Reflecting on Progress
Over the years, the stride towards gender equality has seen women breaking barriers, challenging norms, and making their mark across various fields such as politics, technology, science, business, and art, just to name a few. In the accounting profession, we’ve witnessed countless women excel in various roles, from auditors to advisors, and CFOs. International Women’s Day 2024 should serve as a reminder of the outstanding triumphs, strength, and contributions of women in all facets of life. It’s a moment in which we should acknowledge the progress made throughout the years in the fight against gender inequality and get on board to face the work that still lies ahead in order for us to create a future where both women and girls can thrive. Their dedication and skill have inspired generations of women to pursue their dreams fearlessly and at Avanopti Accounting, we stand in solidarity with these trailblazers by providing support, and mentorship helping women find opportunities to thrive in their careers.
Breaking Barriers
According to the United Nations, gender inequality is still the greatest human rights challenge. Despite the efforts and significant progress, gender disparities still persist in most industries where unequal pay, limited opportunities to advance and unconscious bias still prevail which means there are still barriers that need to be dismantled in order to create a level playing field for all professionals. At Avanopti Accounting, we strive to create an environment where both our female staff and clients irrespective of background, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation, feel empowered to reach their potential and contribute to their own personal success.
Driving Change
While International Women’s Day is a time for celebration, it is also a call to action. There is still so much work to be done in our efforts to eradicate gender inequality, discrimination, and yes, violence against women. We may sometimes feel as though the fight is really not ours if we’re not directly impacted but every action towards creating a more just and equitable world counts. Whether we advocate for equal pay or support women-owned businesses, together we can challenge the stereotypes and help to promote gender diversity, and cultivate a culture of inclusion where women are heard and valued.
As part of the accounting profession, we have our part to play as well, especially given the fact that female entrepreneurs have been steadily on the rise since 2020, accounting for almost 50% of global business owners. Avanopti Accounting provides seamless support to help our female entrepreneurs embark on their journey of entrepreneurship with our immaculate business plans and company setup services and will gladly lend our continuing support through a host of services such as tax filings, outsourcing, and bookkeeping, just to name a few. At Avanopti, we hear you, we see you, we value you and together we will help to dismantle those barriers.
